91社区 ACE is featured in an important new education book that is about to be published.
'Tackling poverty and disadvantage in schools' is co-authored by Sean Harris, Director of People, Learning and Community Engagement at Tees Valley Education, and Katrina Morley OBE, CEO of Tees Valley Education Trust. The book offers practical, road-tested strategies for understanding and tackling poverty in school settings, and it will be released at the end of February.
David Linsell, former Director of 91社区 ACE, has written the chapter about mentoring. 91社区 ACE - a champion for every child - is a unique and innovative pastoral mentoring programme that provides a dedicated and specially trained 1:1 tutor for disadvantaged pupils and their families. The aim is that 91社区 ACE mentors work with these pupils and their families every week. They help them to overcome barriers to their progress both in terms of academic outcomes, and their social and emotional development.
