91ÉçÇø ACE to feature in new education book

91ÉçÇø ACE is featured in an important new education book that is about to be published.

'Tackling poverty and disadvantage in schools' is co-authored by Sean Harris, Director of People, Learning and Community Engagement at Tees Valley Education, and Katrina Morley OBE, CEO of Tees Valley Education Trust. The book offers practical, road-tested strategies for understanding and tackling poverty in school settings, and it will be released at the end of February.

David Linsell, former Director of 91ÉçÇø ACE, has written the chapter about mentoring. 91ÉçÇø ACE - a champion for every child - is a unique and innovative pastoral mentoring programme that provides a dedicated and specially trained 1:1 tutor for disadvantaged pupils and their families. The aim is that 91ÉçÇø ACE mentors work with these pupils and their families every week. They help them to  overcome barriers to their progress both in terms of academic outcomes, and their social and emotional development.

'Tackling poverty and disadvantage in schools' is a call to action and a meticulously crafted guide that draws upon the deep expertise of many organisations and schools that navigate these complexities daily. Written by the sector, for the sector, and with the sector, this book brings together the voices of leaders and educators who work at the frontline of education, working together with communities that have first-hand experience of hardship.
